Punt Morena Beach Cozumel is located mid island on the East side of the Island where the best swimming beaches exist. The best snorkeling area are the West side of the Island because it is sheltered. Be careful for the rip tides on the East Side of the Island.

Punta Langosta is a international peer where cruise ships commonly dock. There is a number of shops include Carlos and Charles, Senior Frogs, Hard Rock Cafe, Starbucks and many more shops.

Chichen-Itza Mexico

Chichen-Itza The day started out in Cozumel where we took the 7am ferry to Playa Del Carma and started the tour at 8am. We were happy to have a great tour guide and would not suggest doing the tour without one right in your van or bus. It was a 2 and 1/2 hour trip with one stop on the way. Our tour guide explained much of the Mayan culture and history on the way to Chichen-Itza. Our stop was at a gift shop that made their own obsidian statues. The statues turn to gold in the sunlight and when the Spanish discovered the Mayan cities that were covered in Obsidian, they though the cities were made of gold. We arrived about 11:30am and to say it was amazing is an understatement. We spent 2 and 1/2 hours in Chichen-Itza and then went for lunch where we were entrained by delightful Mexican dancers. Then off to the Cenote to cool off. Then off to Valladolid where we visited a original Spanish Church. What a great day. If you are visiting the Carebean you should visit Chichen-Itza. We arrived back at Playa Del Carma at 7:45pm and caught the 8pm Ferry back to Cozumel. Tips would be take lots of water, small change and you can buy a Obsidian statue in the Chichen-Itza for 100 to 200 pesos. Also tips are expected. Enjoy!

Condo has two bedrooms with kings, one bedroom with 3 singles foldouts, a double futon and two bathrooms.
It also offers a private outside entrance, fully-equipped kitchen, cable TV, hot water, internet and central air.

The 4 private units available, each with its own private entrance.
The units have king beds, private bathrooms and refrigerators. For a third person you ask for a single foldout ($20/night extra). All units have use of the pool, patio and fully-equipped poolside kitchen.

There is a lot of Silver Shops in Cozumel and here is a few we stopped that had fine silver and actually made a few piece for some of our guests that were very nice. Be careful as not all silver is real.

Mega Supermarket is located 3 blocks from Summer Place Inn along the Caribbean Sea. It has all the items found in most north american super markets and maybe more.

Snorkeling at the Money Bar

The Money Bar is a nice place to snorkel. You will find a number of interesting Caribbean fish not far from the surface. The Money Bar itself does not charge you to use their area. But you should buy something and show them you appreciate them making it available and well maintained. For the first time people to Cozumel there is the snorkeling beaches on the Western side of the Island and amazing sand beaches on the East side of the Island.

Cozumel Carnival March 8th,2011

Ok, the party never seems to stop in Carnival. This is the 4th day although the parade was rained out last night. The parade just seems to get better and better. We sat outside Rock and Java on the main street from 6:30pm to almost 9:30pm, when the paride went by on the other side of the street and then came back. I think they went about 5 kms and they danced all the way. At the end of the parade there was still big smiles. What a night for Carnival. Mostly the Cozumel people are reserved and dress descretely until Carnival, where everyone gets out and shakes their bootie. Bright coloured floats, costumes and jiggles and wiggles that you wonder how anyone can have that much energy. I think there is 2 or 3 more nights of Carnival. Enjoy!

This is the first time we have seen the Cozumel Carnival Parade. Mostly the Cozumel people are reserved and dress descretely until Carnival, where everyone gets out and shakes their bootie. Bright coloured floats, costumes and jiggles and wiggles that you wonder how anyone can have that much energy. Good thing it is held after dark. Enjoy!

Cozumel - Day of the Dead Festival - Nov 1st & 2nd Annually

Day of the Dead is a annual pre-spanish (Aztec and pre America cultures) festival in Mexico that celebrates and honors deceased relatives. Families build alters, offer food, flowers, photos, candles and other items.

The festivities are something to see.

Usually helpd November 1st and 2nd Annually.
